About the author

Carlos Arocha, FSA, is a consultant & AI/ML actuary, and Managing Partner at Arocha & Associates GmbH, a Zurich-based actuarial consulting firm.

Carlos teaches undergraduate financial mathematics, probability, and basic life contingencies, and has taught at Columbia University (New York) and Universidad Anáhuac (Mexico). He volunteers with the Society of Actuaries and mentors students through his alumni community. He has been awarded the SOA Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2018 and 2025 in recognition of his unwavering commitment to advancing the actuarial profession through dedicated volunteer service.
